Living in Great Yarmouth means your home faces unique challenges—cold winds, salty air, and sudden weather changes. We understand these local conditions and recommend systems built to last, keeping your home warm and efficient all year round.
We're proud to be part of the Great Yarmouth community, and we care about delivering the kind of personal, attentive service you'd expect from a local business.
A new boiler in Great Yarmouth typically costs £2,000 to £4,000 fitted, depending on the boiler you choose, whether the existing system needs flushing first, and whether the boiler is staying where it is or moving. We quote after a survey, not over the phone, and the quote is the price.
Great Yarmouth is where we are based — this is home turf, not a town we drive out to. And installing a boiler on the coast is genuinely not the same job as installing one inland. These are the things that change it.
This is the single biggest difference between fitting a boiler in Great Yarmouth and fitting one twenty miles inland. Salt-laden air corrodes flue terminals, external flue sections, condensate pipework and outdoor casings noticeably faster on the coast — and it is worst on exposed seafront and North Denes elevations, and on the cliff side at Gorleston. It changes where a flue should terminate and what it should be made of. A flue that would be fine in a sheltered inland street can look ten years old after three winters facing the sea. We site and specify flues on coastal elevations with that in mind, rather than defaulting to the shortest route out of the wall.
A condensing boiler produces acidic condensate that has to drain away. If that pipe runs outside on an exposed wall, it freezes, the boiler detects the blockage and locks out — almost always on the coldest night of the year. It is one of the most common winter callouts we get in NR30 and NR31, and it is almost entirely preventable at installation. Wherever the property allows it we route the condensate internally to an internal soil stack or waste. Where it genuinely has to go outside, we use wider-bore pipe, lag it properly and keep the external run as short as we can. Ask any installer quoting you what they intend to do with the condensate — the answer tells you a lot.
Norfolk sits on chalk, and Great Yarmouth is a hard water area. Limescale will start building on a brand-new heat exchanger from the first week if nothing is protecting it. We fit a magnetic system filter and chemically treat the system as part of every installation. It is a small line on the quote and it is the difference between a boiler that reaches the end of its warranty in good health and one that starts kettling in year three.
The seaside terraces around the town centre, Southtown and Gorleston often have pipework that has been in the ground and the walls for a very long time, and it is frequently full of sludge. Most manufacturers require the system to be cleaned before a new boiler is commissioned — put a new heat exchanger on a dirty system and you can void the warranty outright. If we find cold spots at the bottom of your radiators, noisy pipes, or black water when we bleed them, we will tell you at survey that the system needs a power flush or a MagnaCleanse before the new boiler goes on. It is quoted up front, not sprung on you on fitting day.
A large part of Great Yarmouth's housing stock earns its living in the summer. Holiday lets, B&Bs and guest houses along the seafront and in Gorleston sit idle for months and then get hammered for a season — and systems that stand unused are exactly where sludge settles and seizes. If you are replacing a boiler in a let, the two things that matter are sizing for peak simultaneous demand (several showers at once, not one) and cleaning the system properly beforehand. We plan installations in lets around the shoulder season wherever we can, so the boiler is in and commissioned before the bookings start.
Great Yarmouth and Gorleston are on mains gas, but head out towards Belton, Burgh Castle, Fritton and the Fleggs and mains gas thins out fast. If you are off-grid, oil or LPG may be your only realistic option. We install, commission and service oil and LPG as well as gas, so it is the same firm either way.
